Amboseli, meaning "salty dust" in maa, the language of the Maasai, is a place of stark contrast. The park provides the classic Hollywood image of Africa. Set in rolling savannah scenery the park is dwarfed by the presence of the pink-tinged, snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. Kibo Safari Camp is a luxury tented camp situated within the Amboseli National Reserve.The Camp incorporates an open terraced restaurant and bar under acacia trees overlooking majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro and a beautiful swimming pool has been landscaped within.

Routes to Kibo

There are several routes to Kibo Safari Camp:

• Emali route near the Kimana gate, about 250Kms (preferred route) - Turn off at Emali junction towards the road leading to Loitokitok, after 60Kms turn right for Iremito Gate Amboseli National Park. From the Iremito Gate drive towards Kimana Gate apporiximately 18Kms and look out for Kibo Safari Camp Signboard. If you miss the first turning then drive to Kimana Town and take the road to Kimana Gate which is 30Kms.
• Via Namanga (Kenya/Tanzania boarder) - This is a 4 hour drive from Nairobi about 278Kms.
• From Tsavo West National Park via Mtito Andei.
